In January 2010, Albany 2030 launched its public engagement process by holding Community Forums in three locations around the City. These forums included an introduction to the Albany 2030 process, and small group discussions on three topics: Albany's current strengths, Albany's current challenges, and participants' visions for the future of Albany in 2030.
This exciting free educational event focused on Albany's potential! Attendees heard Storm Cunningham, a nationally-recognized revitalization expert, analyze Albany's investment potential. Storm Cunningham presented case studies from other cities that have successfully revitalized themselves and lessons learned as to how to attract investment to a community like Albany. The SUNY University at Albany Charrette, a campus-wide forum to get student input on the Albany 2030 process was a success! The event was held on March 24th and up to 40 students from various programs and degrees participated. Thank you to all who attended and helped to organize the charrette. Some pictures from the event are available here. Input from the students will be incorporated into the Albany 2030 process.
Albany 2030 is holding a meetings targeted specifically for residents of the Arbor Hill, West Hill, North Albany and Sheridan Hollow neighborhoods.

The Albany 2030 team will conduct Stoop Surveys in the South End neighborhood of Albany. These are done by walking through the neighborhood and asking residents who happen to be sitting on their stoops and front porches to fill out a quick survey and talk about their priorities for the City of Albany.
